Study spaces at the Social Science Library
The Social Sciences Library has silent reading rooms, group study rooms, a reading studio and open study spaces. There is a student kitchen on the basement level where you can heat and eat your food.
Study spaces are located over four floors. Group study rooms and the reading studio must be booked in advance while other study spaces can be used without booking.
Guidelines for a pleasant study environment
Remember that as a visitor, you help make the library a pleasant place for everyone. By keeping your voice at a reasonable volume, using headphones when listening to audio, not eating food and sorting your waste for recycling, we can make the library a good study environment for everyone.

There are six group study rooms on floor five and eight group study rooms on the basement level.

Reading studio
Two reading studios are located next to the library’s group study rooms. Reading studio 1 has a dedicated book scanner.
Collect the key to the rooms from the information desk on the entrance level. The information desk is unstaffed on weekdays between 08:00 and 10:00. During this time, call staff on 031-786 27 20 to get the key to the reading studio.
Reading studios at our libraries
A reading studio is a resource room equipped with technical aids for students with reading impairments such as dyslexia, visual impairment or other disabilities.
Silent reading rooms
The Social Sciences Library has three silent reading rooms. One is directly to the left of the staircase by the main entrance. The second is to the right of the main entrance, with the entrance to the reading room by the lift. The third is on floor five.
